Loan Status Reference
Understand what each loan status means and what action usually comes next.
Loan status is the quickest way to understand where an application sits in the lending workflow.
Purpose
Use this page as an operations reference when reviewing the loans list or a single loan detail page.
Common statuses
| Status | Meaning | Typical next action |
|---|---|---|
Draft | The loan was created but not yet moved into the approval flow. | Review details and submit for approval. |
Pending approval | The loan is waiting for approval action. | Approve or resolve the blocking issue. |
Approved | The loan is approved and can be prepared for release. | Disburse the loan. |
Disbursed or Active | Funds were released and the loan is now in servicing. | Monitor schedule and collect repayments. |
Completed or Closed | The obligation has been settled. | Archive or review as needed. |
Rejected | The application did not pass approval. | Communicate outcome and decide whether to create a new application later. |
How to use status operationally
- Review the loans list every day for items stuck in draft or pending approval.
- Separate approved-but-not-disbursed loans from already active loans.
- Use overdue and collections reporting to prioritize follow-up once a loan is active.
Troubleshooting
- If a loan appears stuck, open the detail page and confirm the last completed action.
- If status names differ slightly in your environment, map them back to the same operational stage listed above.
